• The public is invited to Crown View Baptist on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. to hear “Christmas through Jewish Eyes” with Jonathan Mann of Chosen People Ministries. The church is at 502 W. Tyler St. in Dalton.
• First Presbyterian Church of Dalton, 101 Selvidge St. in the historic Martin House, continues to present multiple Christmas musical and arts opportunities and events during the Advent season.
— Sunday, Dec. 17, third Sunday of Advent, Sunday school for adults and children at 9:15 a.m.; Fellowship in the Commons at 10 a.m.; and morning worship featuring the annual Children’s Christmas Pageant in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. The play was written and is directed by Walter Jones and Beverly Higdon.
— Sunday, Dec. 17, at 4:50 p.m.: “A Christmas Cantata of Lessons and Carols” featuring the Sanctuary Choir and a chamber orchestra made up of talented area musicians under the direction of Hje Jeong Kwon, director of music.
— Sunday, Dec. 24, fourth Sunday of Advent, Sunday school for adults and children at 9:15 a.m.; Fellowship in the Commons at 10 a.m.; and morning worship in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m.
— Sunday, Dec. 24, at 5:30 p.m.: Christmas Eve Candlelight Service in the sanctuary.
• Riverbend Church of Christ opens a benevolent house each Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for area residents in need. People can choose from a variety of clothing, shoes, household items and more at no charge. The ministry is in the white house beside the church building at 2218 S. Riverbend Road.
• St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 901 W. Emery St., offers several Christian educational opportunities and events:
— Sunday, Dec. 17, Holy Eucharist Services: rite one at 8 a.m., rite two and children’s church at 10:30; adult Sunday school at 9 and 9:45 a.m. in the Parish Hall; Children’s Christmas Pageant during the 10:30 a.m. service.
— Thursday, Dec. 21, Holy Eucharist Service at Royal Oaks at 10 a.m., Bible study at 6 p.m.
