The cause of a fire that destroyed a Breckenridge Lake area house Sunday is under investigation by the Cumberland County Fire and Rescue and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, according to an incident report released this week.
No one was legally living in the residence at the time the fire was discovered and no injuries associated with the blaze were reported.
Fire fighters and sheriff’s deputies were called to the 200 block of Dublin Dr. — located off Breckenridge Drive In southern Cumberland County — around 4:10 a.m. Sunday on a report of a structure fire.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the structure to be fully enveloped in flames. Investigators learned the building is owned by a Columbia, TN, man who reported that former tenants had moved out and no one was legally living in the residence.
The fire was extinguished but the residence was reported to be a total loss.
CCSO Sheriff’s Investigator Mitchell Ward was called to the scene to assist in the investigation, which is ongoing.
