CRESAPTOWN — Bethany Carrington led Calvary with a 19-point double-double in a 34-15 home win over Great Commission on Thursday.
“This was a nice first win,” Calvary head coach Todd Riggleman said. “All the girls played hard tonight and showed tremendous effort.”
Carrington scored over half of the Eagles (1-1) points, adding 18 rebounds.
Reagan Getz scored six points with three rebounds and Anna Westrom had four points. Ava Strawderman scored two points with five rebounds.
“I was proud of their intensity and they all did an outstanding job,” Riggleman said.
Milla Palazzi led Great Commission, out of Altoona, Pennsylvania, with four points and Ali Miller scored three.
Calvary hosts Turkeyfoot Valley (Pa.) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Petersburg used a balanced offensive attack to down East Hardy on Thursday night.
Four Vikings scored at least nine points, and three finished in double figures. Sam Colaw, Abby Alt and Makenah Shriver tallied 10 points apiece, and Ayden Mayfield scored nine. Nellie Whetzel added seven.
Petersburg (2-0) led 14-4 after the first quarter, 27-8 at the half and 40-14 after three periods.
Brooklyn Tinnell topped East Hardy with a game-high 17 points, making four field goals and 9 of 14 free throws.
Petersburg hosts Moorefield on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. East Hardy is at Tygarts Valley on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
