Brookwood School, part of Dalton Public Schools, has been celebrated as a 2023-24 Title I Distinguished School by the Georgia Department of Education. This honor places Brookwood among the top 5% of high-performing Title I schools in Georgia, as determined by the most recent English Language Arts (ELA) and math content mastery scores on statewide assessments.
The Distinguished Schools designation celebrates the academic excellence and dedication demonstrated by Brookwood’s students, teachers and staff under the leadership of Principal BethAnn Browning and Assistant Principal Amy Norwood. The school’s commitment to providing equitable and high-quality education is reflected in this significant achievement.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication, perseverance and teamwork that define our school,” said Browning. “Our students, teachers and families have worked tirelessly to build a thriving community focused on success, and we are thrilled to see that hard work celebrated.”
Distinguished Schools are recognized for their outstanding performance on the state’s standardized assessments, demonstrating consistent achievement in both ELA and mathematics.
“We are overjoyed to see Brookwood School recognized as a Distinguished School,” said Steven Craft, superintendent of Dalton Public Schools. “This not only highlights the exceptional efforts of the Brookwood community but also showcases the shared commitment across Dalton Public Schools to delivering outstanding educational experiences for all students.”
