On Saturday, Londonderry Boy Scout Troop 521 hosted its annual Christmas tree burn at Mack’s Apples, 230 Mammoth Road.
The Scouts started collecting trees at 8 a.m. to burn Saturday evening at the bonfire, which began at 6 p.m. Residents from Londonderry and the surrounding areas gathered around to watch the spectacle.
More than 200 trees were stacked up by the Scouts throughout the day while they sold hot chocolate, apple cider, brownies and cookies. The tree burn was originally started as an Eagle Scout project and has been a tradition for the last 25 years.
