Lily Shea, a senior attack and captain for the Beverly High girls lacrosse team who leads the Panthers in goals (69), assists (44) and total points (112, breaking her own school record), has been chosen as the Northeastern Conference’s Player of the Year in girls lacrosse.
Three of Shea’s teammates joined her on the NEC’s All-Conference team: senior attack Lauren Caley (40 goals, 10 assists), junior midfielder Joselyn Silva (56 goals, 22 assists), and sophomore goalkeeper Madeline Reynolds (151 saves, 56% save pct.).
The only team that defeated Beverly in NEC play was unbeaten league champion Peabody (13-0), which also had four of its players chosen as All-Conference in addition to Michelle Roach being chosen by her peers as the NEC Coach of the Year.
A pair of high scoring junior midfielders, Brooke Lomasney (81 goals, 56 assists) and Ally Bettencourt (54 goals, 35 assists) headed up the Tanners’ All-Conference selections along with fellow 11th graders Madi Barrett (52 goals, 17 assists) at midfield and goalie Catlin Snow (138 saves, 54% save pct.)
Senior captain and midfielder Coco Clopton was one of three players from NEC Lynn Division titlist Swampscott picked as All-Conference, along with senior defenseman Maxine Wald and junior middie Avery Laundry. Danvers senior midfielder Jordan Turcotte and junior mid Madison Forbes of Marblehead were the other selections.
The Northeastern Conference Dunn all-stars were senior attack Katie Amico, senior defender Kayla Laundry, and junior defender Maia Davis of Peabody; senior attack Samatha Sprissler and sophomore defender Morgan Linskey of Beverly; senior goalie Mackenzie Cronin and senior attack Hannah Coleman of Masconomet; junior midfielder Ramona Gillett and freshman attack Kathryn Commoss of Marblehead; and junior attack Savannah Botthof of Danvers.
All-stars from the Northeastern Conference Lynch Division were junior midfielder Kate Heppner and freshman attack Kailyn Ricciarelli of Salem; junior attack Chloe Puzzo, sophomore goalie Lilah Caplan and freshman defender Olivia Quagrello of Swampscott; senior midfielder Anna Hafey and junior mid Skye Berry of Gloucester; junior attack Ashley Rezendes and sophomore attack/mid Aly Mabee of Saugus; and senior midfielder Samantha DiMento and junior attack Talia Martucci of Winthrop.
Saugus High was also the recipient of the NEC’s Sportsmanship Award for girls lacrosse.
