BEVERLY — Beverly Main Streets will host its annual Downtown Winter Market on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and 14.
The Winter Market is designed to promote shopping small and to activate spaces for the holiday season. Local businesses will be open for shopping and special activities from 4 to 8 p.m. on the two days.
The event will focus on Cabot Street on Dec. 13 and Rantoul Street on Dec. 14. There will be vendor markets, musical performances and special guests throughout both nights as people meander through Beverly’s two main downtown streets.
Beverly Main Streets said shopping locally can have a tremendous impact on the overall vibrancy of a community.
“We add a special spark and energy to our downtown cities along with offering unique and mostly handmade products you can’t find in big box stores,” said Katie Upchurch, owner of Soy Much Brighter Candle Co. and Friends Forever Studio on Rantoul Street. “Shopping with small, independent, local shops will always give you a more personalized experience, packed with intention and care.”
Other features of the Winter Market include the annual Shopping Passport with prizes from local businesses; Parents’ Night Out on Friday at the First Baptist Church, where parents can drop their kids off for dinner and activities from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; photo ops with Darth Vader the First Baptist Church on Cabot Street and the Yule Cat of Black Cat Curiosity at The Block patio near The Castle on Rantoul Street; and the launch of the Beverly Memory Tree in Odell Veterans Memorial Park on Rantoul Street on Saturday at 4 p.m.
