Marguerite Bailey of Rantoul is running to succeed her current boss, state Rep. Mike Marron of the 104th district. Rep. Marron is not seeking re-election.
The 104th district includes portions of Champaign and Vermilion counties.
Bailey, who will seek the nomination in the Republican primary, has been serving as a legislative assistant for Rep. Marron for the past two years. Prior to that, she worked for Vermilion County for 10 years in the State’s Attorney and County Board offices. She was also elected to serve as trustee in the Village of Potomac for eight years.
The Illinois primary election is March 19, 2024.
