ELIZABETHTOWN — The Patriots continued their strong start to the season by defeating the Griffins, 51-27 in the championship game of the Jane’s Alzheimer’s Awareness tournament, Wednesday.
AVCS took a 30-17 lead at the break and never looked back as they were led by Raven Sessoms’ game high 16 points. She also had two of the team’s four threes.
Teammate Reese Shambo added 12 points to pace the Patriots from the inside.
Boquet Valley was led by Ella Lobdell, who finished the night with 12 points including two threes.
With the win, AuSable improves to 3-1 on the year while the Griffins fall to 1-2 to begin their campaign.

ELIZABETHTOWN — In the consolation game, the Vikings played a complete game in defeating the Blue Bombers, 75-25.
Moriah’s Hannah Gaddor led all scorers with 27 points.
Emma Cheney, Maddie Eichen and Emmy Nephew also reached double digits for the Vikings with 12 points for Cheney and 10 for Eichen and Nephew.
Abbey Light led the way for Lake Placid with 17.
“Girls did a good job on the defensive end,” Moriah’s head coach Gary Olcott said. “We were able to get some transition going.”
With both teams using the tournament as season openers, the Vikings stand 1-1 while the Blue Bombers are 0-2.

TICONDEROGA — Sophia Dorsett had an impressive outing as she led Ti to a 56-35 victory over the visiting Hadley-Luzerne.
Not only did Dorsett finish with a game high 21 points, she made all five of Sentinel threes. The spark she provided came when Dorsett opened the game scoring the first seven points.
Cassidy Mattison was a terror inside with seven rebounds and four blocks. She contributed 12 points as well.
Hadley was led by Gabby Graham, who like Dorsett made all four of her team’s shots from beyond the arc.
She finished with 18 points with Madison Lent adding 10.
With the win, Ti improves to 2-0 on the season.

KEENE — It was just a night where Bolton couldn’t miss as they went on to defeat Keene, in its season opener, 46-28.
Thea Kennedy led the Eagles with 13 points, while Jadynn Egloff and Maillie Kelley each added 11.
In her varsity debut, Juliana Tremblay led Keene with a game high 14 points.
“Bolton came to play tonight and shot well from the field and excellent from the line,” Beavers head coach Josh Whitney said. “We missed a-lot shots. We had contributions from Reagan Whitney, Lily Jones Liana Shambo and Addi Van Ness.”
With the win, Bolton improves to 2-0 on the season while Keene opens up, 0-1.

BEEKMANTOWN — The Eagles opened the season on fire with a 41-19 defeat of the Knights.
“The girls came out in our season opener hard,” Beekmantown’s coach Emily Girard said. “It is nice to see a spread in the scorecard, with 6 players earning points and all 11 getting positive touches on the ball.”
The Eagles were led by Grace McCasland and Payton Parliament who combined for 29 points with 15 and 14, respectively.
The Eagles left little doubt early as they led 28-9 at the break.
Girard commended the defensive prowess of Sophie Miller and Lindsay Barnes as both worked tirelessly from baseline to baseline.
Seton Catholic’s Grace Trombley led her team with seven points.
“Seton’s Trombley is a strong player with a powerful drive from the elbow and her continuous battle in the paint was certainly a challenge,” Girard said.

FORT EDWARD — Alex Swajger recorded a double-double and Ti needed every bit of it to defeat Fort Edward, 48-41 in overtime.
Swajger finished the night with a team high 15 points and 15 rebounds.
The Sentinels were in control for most of the game, but weren’t able to put Flying Forts away.
Ft. Edward got hot in the fourth, scoring 15 points. But, Jackson Dorsett made a key offensive rebound and was fouled on the put back with 20 seconds remaining.
He made both attempts for the Sentinels and sent the game into extra time.
Ti’s coach Joey Defayette praised his team’s defense in overtime as they limited Ft. Edwards to four points.
Landen Smith made four of his six free throws as Carter Perron and Swajger made big shots that allowed the Sentinels to pull out the win.
Tommy Montalbano finished second on the team with 13 points.

WHITEHALL — Ti started the week off with a heartbreaker as they fell to Whitehall, 46-45.
Trailing 13 with three minutes remaining, the Sentinels were able to claw back into the contest and get to the foul line to tie the game at the end.
Unfortunately, the second free throw was missed and Whitehall escaped with the victory.
Montalbano led all scorers with 21 points with Dorsett adding nine.
“Our defensive intensity and execution has been good to start the year,” Defayette said. “It has allowed us to be in games even though we are still working on our identity on offense. “
