The Niagara County Republican Committee unanimously re-elected North Tonawanda-based county Legislator Richard L. Andres to another term as chairman. It will be Andres’ fourth term heading the local GOP organization.
Citing the tremendous dedication of committeemen and elected officials, Andres said “I am gratified by the continued support of my fellow Republicans as we continue to build our party and put forward candidates and a platform that resonates with voters. Niagara County is pretty evenly divided in terms of voter registration between the two parties, but we continue to have great success at the ballot box because our priorities are aligned with voters.”
Also elected with Andres this week were first Vice Chair May Jo Tamburlin, second vice chair Scott Jordan, third vice chair John “Duffy” Johnston, Treasurer Amy Bradt, Assistant Secretary Paul Hempel, Secretary Patti Weiss and Assistant Secretary Mike Carney. Chairman and executive committee members of each town and city committees were also announced.
Andres said his immediate priorities were turning out Niagara County voters for the Republican slate this November and then immediately recruiting candidates for next year’s local elections.
“We have a great top of the ticket with President Trump that has our voters excited,” said Andres. “My phone is ringing off the hook with voters looking for Trump lawn signs and people wanting to get involved. We need to continue to build that energy and carry it forward to next year.”
