The Andover High boys delivered the top showing from the area in Saturday’s MIAA State Cross Country Meet, held on the 5K course at Devens.
Andover claimed third in the Division 1 boys race, scoring 142 points in the meet dominated by Brookline, which had 62.
Kyle Haskell took 10th place overall for the Warriors. The senior covered the course in 16:04.02. Teammate James Gallaudet was close behind in 14th with a 16:14.33 clocking.
North Andover placed ninth in the field, led by Emmett LaRosa’s 20th place finish in 16:28.13. Central Catholic’s Ethan Westaway, an individual qualifier, was 25th in 16:30.59.
For the girls, Central Catholic placed 13th overall, and North Andover was 17th.
Madeline Courtemanche was the top area runner home. The Central senior was 14th in 19:12.86. North Andover’s top finisher was Nicole Kroon in 66th at 20:27.32.
Haverhill’s Lauren Downer placed 59th in 20:21.51, edging Andover’s Claire DeMersseman, who was 60th at 20:21.71. Her Warrior teammate Rose Kiley took 63rd in 20:23.35.
