CUMBERLAND — Behind double-doubles by Avery Miller and Shylah Taylor, No. 4 Allegany held off Goretti 53-49 on Monday in the regular season finale.
The Campers (14-7) end the regular season on a seven-game winning streak.
Taylor scored 22 points, leading Allegany along with 10 rebounds. Nine of her points came in the first quarter.
Miller finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. She scored eight points in the second quarter.
Ella Shade added 15 points and four assists.
Shade’s scoring was the difference in the fourth quarter as the Campers outscored the Gaels 15-10.
Allegany led 16-15 after one quarter and 34-24 at halftime. After being held to four points in the third quarter and trailing 39-38, the Campers rallied in the fourth for the win.
Allegany finishes the season with a 13-7 playoff record tied with Northern, but since the Campers swept the Huskies, they clinched the No. 3 seed.
Allegany will get a bye before facing the No. 2 seed, either Southern or Mountain Ridge in the region semifinals.
If the Miners (18-3) beat Clear Spring (6-13) on Thursday, a coin toss will determine if the Miners or Rams gets the No. 1 seed.
