OAKLAND — Desirae Hilton scored a goal and an assist, and No. 4 Allegany capped an unbeaten week with a 2-0 win over No. 5 Southern on Saturday.
The Campers (5-3-1, 3-1-1 Western Maryland Athletic Conference) are unbeaten in their last six matches. Southern fell to 3-4-1 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Allegany led 1-0 at the half Saturday when Hilton tapped a ball towards Avery Miller, who took one touch and shot it low to the left side of the goal and into the net from 20 yards out with 13:16 on the clock.
Hilton made it 2-0 Alco with a header off a corner by Myia Miller with 26:54 remaining.
Allegany had an 8-3 edge in shots on goal and 9-2 on corner kicks. Southern had five fouls to one for the Campers. Alco keeper Shylah Taylor made three saves for the cleansheet, and Addison Tasker had six saves for the Rams.
Allegany (2-0 Cumberland City League) hosts Bishop Walsh (0-6, 0-3 City) on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Southern hosts No. 1 Mountain Ridge (7-1, 3-1 WestMAC) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
