FREDERICK — In its first game of 2024, Allegany College of Maryland defeated Frederick on the road 82-72 on Wednesday.
The game was tied at 31 at halftime, but the Trojans (13-2, 8-0 NJCAA Region 20) outscored the Cougars (4-6, 3-5 Region 20) 51-41 in the second half.
ACM’s Tyson Oghene led all scorers with 27 points. He scored 13 in the first half and 14 in the second. He also added three steals, two rebounds and a block.
Lamont Jones scored 15 points with two rebounds and an assist.
Jeremiah Mobley, who was not listed on the Trojans’ roster before the holiday break, scored 13 points off the bench.
He played 23 minutes and scored 10 points in the second half, also adding a pair of steals and a rebound.
Ron Brown scored 11 points with a pair of assists and rebounds, and Cam Brown scored eight points with five assists and four steals.
Justin Morrisey led Frederick with 22 points. He also had a pair of assists and rebounds.
Terrell Neal finished with 17 points and five steals and Malik Witherspoon recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Trojans head to Cecil College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
