MOULTRIE – This year’s annual Vereen Sports Medicine Christmas Shoot-out will play host to 23 games featuring girls and boys basketball teams representing 13 schools.
The event will be held Dec. 28-30 on the William Bryant Court at Colquitt County High School.
The Colquitt County girls will play at 7 p.m. each of the three days. The Packers will play the final game each day at 8:30 p.m.
Other Georgia schools with teams in the field include Lee County, Glynn Academy, Bainbridge, Thomas County Central, Early County, Fitzgerald, Cook, Cairo and Ware County.
Pike County High School of Brundidge, Ala., and Handley High School from Roanoke, Ala., will send girls and boys teams to compete in the event.
Both teams from Tallahassee’s Rickards High also will participate.
Single-game entry tickets are $10. An all-day pass is $15 and a three-day pass is $35.

Before the Shoot-out, the Packers and Lady Packers will play in two other holiday events.
The Colquitt County boys team will travel to Carrollton for a pair of games.
On Monday, Dec. 18, the Packers will face McIntosh at 7 p.m.
The next day, they will play Lithia Springs at 2:30 p.m.
The Colquitt County girls basketball team will play in the Black Bracket of the Lee County Girl Power Classic at Lee County High School.
The Lady Packers will face Macon County at 4:30 p.m. and Dougherty will play Veterans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21.
The winners of those two games will meet at 6 p.m. Friday for the bracket championship.
The losers of the two Thursday games will battle for third place at 3 p.m. Friday.
