Leah Morrier was the catalyst in Timberlane’s first-ever state championship.
In the Division I state championship game, she sent what’s termed as “historical ball” to teammate Rylee Donahue, who headed the ball in for the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Portsmouth.
Morrier finished the season scoring 28 goals and adding 13 assists as the team finished with an 18-1 record, winning the last 17 games and outscoring teams 64-8. She finished her career with 51 goals, 42 assists and 93 points, while, the team had a record of 56-10-1.
Morrier was named to the New Hampshire Division I All-State team three straight years, to the Eagle-Tribune All-Star team two straight years and was named to the New Hampshire Lions Cup team.
“Leah is undoubtedly one of the most talented and complete players I have ever coached,” said head coach Jeff Baumann. “Leah doesn’t have a hole in her game, and is the complete package. The way she carries herself, her attitude and her leadership, she’s off the charts. She’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime-players from a coaching perspective. I know I certainly appreciate that and her teammates appreciate her as well. They literally look for her on the field and she checks every box off the field as well.”
One of seven children, including older sisters Rachel and Veronica who were both talented players at Timberlane as well as younger sister Mia who was also instrumental in the championship title, Leah will play the next four years at UMass Lowell.
