WHEELING, W.Va. — Martinsburg started slow, but it scored four times in seven plays during a 28-point second quarter to roll to a 57-13 rout of Princeton in the Class AAA championship game on Saturday at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The Bulldogs finish 13-0 in Dave Walker’s first season after returning to the high school ranks following a stint at Concord University.
With the nine-time state champion Walker on the sidelines, Martinsburg has won 70 straight games.
Bulldogs quarterback Murphy Clement was the game’s Most Valuable Player after rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries. As a team, the powerhouse from the Eastern Panhandle rushed for 409 yards on 28 attempts.

Dylan Ours, the son of former area Player of the Year at Westmar and West Virginia University standout Wes Ours, set a Super Six record with six rushing touchdowns to help Fairmont Senior win a shootout in the Class AA title game Friday.
Fairmont Senior (11-2) led 49-42 with seconds remaining before North Marion (12-2) found the end zone when Landon Frey made a remarkable one-handed 28-yard touchdown catch to trim the deficit to 49-48.
Frey’s score was initially ruled an incompletion before it was changed from video review.
North Marion elected to go for two and the win but came up short.
Dylan Ours, who played middle school football in Keyser, ended with 188 yards on 27 attempts.
Wes Ours was the 1996 Area Player of the Year at Westmar for coach Gary Marsh. Nicknamed the “Wes Express” at WVU, Ours, a fullback, blocked for record-breaking backs Amos Zereoué and Avon Cobourne before a brief professional career.

Williamstown rushed for 287 yards in the first half and scored 28 straight to begin the game to repeat as Class A state champion with a win over Greenbrier West on Saturday night.
Williamstown (14-0) captured its fourth state title in school history. Greenbrier West, making its first Super Six appearance in 10 years, finished 13-1.
Maxwell Molessa, who is committed to WVU to play baseball, completed 8 of 9 passes for 96 yards and rushed for a game-high 160 yards on 19 carries — his longest a 98-yard touchdown run.
