A bank has teamed up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots campaign this holiday season.
Brookline Bank invites North Shore residents to donate toys at its branches at 10 Martin St. in Essex, 207 Main St. in Gloucester, 31 Market St. in Ipswich, and 144 Newburyport Turnpike in Rowley.
“We are delighted to offer our banking offices as drop-sites for the Marine Toys for Tots,” said Darryl Fess, president and CEO of Brookline Bank, in a prepared statement. “The profound impact of this effort is truly heartwarming, and we are privileged to play our part in making a difference during the holidays.”
Toys collected at the bank branches will be distributed to children in need in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, and Suffolk counties.
Last year, Brookline Bank said it collected more than 2,800 toys for children through the Marine Toys for Tots campaign.
Now in its 76th year, Marine Toys for Tots, through the gift of a new toy, helps bring joy to the holidays and sends a message of hope to less fortunate children. Thanks to the public’s generosity, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve has distributed over 652 million toys to more than 291 million children.
