Peabody High standout Abby Bettencourt has been chosen as the Most Valuable Player in the Northeastern Conference for volleyball this season, having led her squad to the NEC’s Dunn Division championship.
A senior setter, Bettencourt had 494 aces this season to lead the entire North Shore. She also had 138 kills, 92 aces, 14 blocks and a hitting percentage of 0.474 percent.
She was joined on the NEC’s All-Conference team by her sister, Lizzy Bettencourt, a sophomore outside hitter. Also, Lisa Keene of the Tanners, who won her 300th career game this fall, was chosen as the NEC Coach of the Year.
Danvers had three players chosen for the All-Conference team: senior middle blocker Kaitlyn Cicerone, senior outside hitter Riley Devitt, and junior setter Audrey Lapine.
Masconomet was represented on the All-Conference team by a pair of middle hitters: junior Megan Brady and sophomore Cate Wettstone. Marblehead also garnered an All-Conference selection in junior libero Megan Parkman.
Northeastern Conference Dunn Division all-stars were senior middle hitter Kayla Landry and sophomore Sydney Lynch of Peabody; senior libero Maddie McClearn and senior middle blocker Abby Sullivan of Danvers; sophomore defensive specialist Lidia Benedetto and sophomore setter Jordan Draper of Masconomet; senior right side Deysha Amadis and sophomore setter Eva Burke of Marblehead, and senior libero Tehya Killam of Beverly.
The Northeastern Conference Baker Division all-stars were senior libero Sofia Comfort, senior setter Jamila Oriakhi and senior middle hitter Brooke Farnum of Swampscott; senior outside hitter Cristal Severino Fabian and sophomore setter Mia Silva of Salem; Ava Rogers and Ana Silva of Saugus; and Lily Conway of Winthrop.
