TIFTON- The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation recently donated two Tobii Dynavox assistive technology devices to Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Inpatient Speech Therapy department.
The Tobii Dynavox device uses eye tracking technology to communicate with stroke victims, patients on ventilators, or any other patient that has communication barriers.
“This device will be a huge benefit for inpatient, outpatient, palliative and hospice patients that need a way to communicate,” stated Mandy Brooks, Executive Director of the TRMC Foundation. “It enables them to connect with others all while offering independence.”
The purchase of these devices is made possible through contributions from the “Hearts and Diamonds” Gala. The funds are used to purchase medical equipment for local healthcare providers. To learn more about the Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation, visit www.trmcf.com.
