Crossville Food City, Fairfield Glade Food City and IGA of Crossville are partnering again to gather non-perishable food for the Royal Duties “Caring for our Veterans” Food Drive campaign.
The food drive is currently underway, with contributions taken through Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Last year the Ms. Senior Cumberland Queen Association, other organizations and the community gathered more than one tone of food and assembled 65 boxes. A fresh ham was added to each box to be distributed to veterans in need and their families just prior to Thanksgiving.
Crossville Food City Manager Brad Holt and Fairfield Glade Food City Manager Norman Cunningham, and Priceless IGA of Crossville Manager Jerrod Christmas are eager to start the campaign at each location to gather non-perishable items in their collective stores.
The mission nationwide is to help veterans in the United States, their spouses, and children, whose circumstances have left them on the battlefield of hunger, and to involve the public in fighting veterans hunger.
Drop off boxes are also available at other locations: Crossville Elks Lodge (Genesis Rd.), Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5025 (S. Main St.), Military Memorial Museum (downtown Crossville), Cumberland County Veterans Service Office (Cumberland County Courthouse), Crossville Memorial Airport (Hwy. 70 W.), 1st National Bank (Crossville and Fairfield Glade branches) and ACE Body and Frame (West Ave.).

Mark your calendars for the upcoming Veterans Parade set Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. in Downtown Crossville
