CUMBERLAND — A Baltimore County man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a semi-truck arson that occurred in October on Interstate 68 in Allegany County.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal said Robert Steven Silver, 42, of Cockeysville was charged with second-degree arson, malicious burning/fraud and reckless endangerment. He was released from custody after posting a $10,000 unsecured bond.
Investigators said Silver, the vehicle’s owner and operator, abandoned the truck Oct. 12 after it became disabled at the 50-mile marker, just east of Cumberland. He allegedly returned later to set it on fire.
The fire caused about $30,000 damage to the 2012 Volvo D13 truck.
