PLATTSBURGH — Local resident, pharmacist and philanthropist Dan Bosley has been appointed to the Plattsburgh Town Board.
He succeeds Barbara Hebert, who stepped down following her dedicated service on the board.
“It is an honor to be entrusted with this opportunity to serve the Town of Plattsburgh,” Bosley said in a news release.
“I’m eager to bring my perspective and experience to support our community and help address the challenges and opportunities we face together.”
LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER
Bosley’s appointment, effective Jan. 2, was made during the town’s organizational meeting and received unanimous approval from the board.
A respected business leader, Bosley owns Keeseville Pharmacy in Keeseville and Cornerstone Drug and Gift in Rouses Point, employing numerous community members.
He is also the catalyst behind the innovative Farmacy program in partnership with AdkAction, which integrates locally sourced, fresh foods into a pharmacy setting to improve community health.
“Dan’s business acumen, commitment to community, and innovative problem-solving make him an outstanding addition to our Town Board,” Supervisor Michael S. Cashman said.
FARMACY PROGRAM
Bosley’s Farmacy initiative, launched in Keeseville, is the first of its kind in New York State.
It addresses food insecurity while promoting health through locally sourced, nutritious food.
“Good health starts at the table,” Bosley often says, highlighting his dedication to improving lives through a holistic approach to health and wellness.
Deputy Supervisor Chuck Kostyk welcomed Bosley to the board, praising his “commitment to service and innovative thinking.”
The Town of Plattsburgh moves forward with a balanced and experienced team, continuing to prioritize essential infrastructure improvements, community programs, and fiscal responsibility.
Bosley will serve on the board until the next election.
