STABBING
Falls police responding to a report of a fight found a person suffering from stab wounds at 15th and Linwood Avenue about 4:15 a.m. Sunday. The victim had been stabbed in the abdomen. Asia M. Vincent, 31, of Linwood Avenue, was charged with a felony count of second-degree assault after police stopped a car that had left the scene of the assault. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
INCIDENT
A 41-year-old Garden Avenue man was charged with second-degree menacing with a weapon about 2:40 p.m. Monday after Falls police responded to a 15th Street address for a report of a man with a gun. The victim said the suspect had tried to enter a building on 15th and was told he wasn’t welcome at which point he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The suspect was located nearby and taken into custody.
ACCIDENT
Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an accident involving construction machinery at 6439 East Lake Road in Newfane on Dec. 21. Arriving deputies reported a Skytrak 8042 forklift vehicle had overturned off of a semi-trailer. A man had been backing the machinery off the trailer when it went over the side of the semi-trailer. He was treated at the scene by EMS personnel and taken to Erie County Medical Center. A towing company responded and towed the machine and trailer.
INCIDENT
Police responded to a report of a suspicious male on the 5500 block of Ide Road in Newfane at 4:11 a.m. Dec. 20. Upon arrival, a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a man, whose age and address were not disclosed, walking in the road and screaming. The man admitted to having recently smoked crack cocaine and was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
ARREST
A North Tonawanda man was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny on Monday after sheriff’s deputies were called to a business on the 5500 block of Lockport Road in Pendleton. A representative of the business called the police after spotting the man taking property through the surveillance system. A description of the suspect’s vehicle was provided to deputies and tracks in the snow showed it was heading west on Lockport Road. Deputy Williams and Deputy Villani located a vehicle matching that description in the area of Lockport and Walmore roads in Sanborn and found pallet forks for a skid steer valued at $1,000 in the vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle was towed from the scene due to no other driver being available. The NT man is due in court on Jan. 22.
INCIDENT
Police are investigating a report of a missing wallet at a business on the 3900 block of Lockport-Olcott Road in Newfane. The victim’s mother told a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy that she believes the wallet was stolen Tuesday afternoon. The wallet held an ID, $380 in cash and is valued at $40 itself. While a camera system is in operation, the employee with access to the footage is on vacation. The incident was documented.
