SARANAC LAKE — The 2nd Annual North Country New Year pops off 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 in Saranac Lake.
Merriment on New Year’s Eve includes live music and activities throughout the village and the hub located at the Harrietstown Town Hall, 39 Main St. Buttons are free for 17 and under, $15 seniors 62 and up, and $20 adults.
This year, enjoy a range of entertainment options, including:
• Folk rock band Driftwood headlining Town Hall
• The Gaslight Tinkers, playing a dance-happy blend of old-time fiddle, funk, Caribbean and African music
• Hip-hop harp music from Küf Knotz and Christine Elise
• Flamenco-to-bluegrass virtuosos Maria Zemantauski and Sten Isachsen
• Ever-popular local favorites, the ‘50s/’60s revivalists Frankie & the Moonlighters
• The rafter-rattling Plattsburgh State Gospel Choir
• Hilarious comedy act by Moody McCarthy and Completely Stranded
• New this year, a kids carnival, featuring balloon animals, caricatures, and face painting, along with performances from the legendary “Bubble Man” Jeff Boyer and juggler extraordinaire Stephen Gratto
