LARCENY
Police are investigating a larceny on the 6000 block of Old Beattie Road in the Town of Lockport. The property owner told a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy Sunday that five pieces of metal were missing. The value of the metal is $200.
ANIMAL COMPLAINT
Police responded to an animal complaint on the 5800 block of South Transit Road about 7:45 p.m. Saturday. The caller told a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy that there was a ferret running in the parking lot and that it had bitten him. The ferret was captured by a wildlife rehabilitator and the complainant was advised to seek medical treatment.
FRAUD
Police responded to a report of fraud on the 5500 block of Hartford Drive in the Town of Lockport Saturday. The victim told a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy that he was trying to accept a $480 gift card via email, but was being told it’d already been used. The victim said he had not approved payments of $289.21 and $190.79 and wants to pursue charges.
FRAUD
Police responded to a report of fraud on the 3300 block of Hosmer Road in Somerset. The victim told a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy that he deposited checks mailed to his address and transferred the money to an online cash application in October, as instructed by a scammer in July at 12:10 p.m. Friday. The checks bounced shortly after and he was left with a negative balance. The victim lost $1,500.
FRAUD
Police responded to a case of fraud on the 200 block of Park Avenue at 11:57 a.m. Friday in the City of Lockport. The victim told a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy she had sent $500 to put a down payment for a car through PayPal, but the car was never delivered. According to the victim, the suspect asked for more money and wouldn’t release the original payment. The suspect said she never sold a car or received money.
