They may be your New England Patriots, but this Sunday at the 4 p.m. hour they may be more of a distraction if you are a really big NFL fan.
The Patriots will be shown live at 4:25 p.m. on CBS (Ch. 4).
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles will be on at around the same time on FOX (Ch. 6).
But the Main Event, the real game of the week, or really maybe the year, and possibly a Super Bowl preview — Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions, 4:25 p.m. — will not be shown because, well, the hometown team Pats are playing on the same CBS network.
Talk about a bit of a bummer.
That is going to be a tough game to pick. Or is it?
The Lions are arguably the best team in the NFL and they have won 11 straight. And Bills quarterback Josh Allen is probably MVP of the league as of today.
That game should be prime time, but whatever.
As for Week 14, it was another very good week for “I Beat Burt” players, as 55 of the 354 entries picked 10 or more wins out of the 12 games on the weekend.
I had a pretty good week, with nine correct picks. But not good enough, apparently.
The first tiebreaker was the Kansas City Chiefs point total (19), as Patriots had a bye. The second tiebreaker, amount of correct selections, was also needed.
All of the T-shirt winners were within four points of the Patriots point total and had at least 10 or 11 wins when needed.
