The Northern Essex Community College men struggled much of the way on Saturday but found a way to grind out their 10th straight win, 101-96, at Quincy College.
NECC trailed for 35 of the 40 minutes, and somehow rallied when it mattered, moving to 12-2 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
Sophomore Ryan Pacy of Salem was fouled on a three-point attempt and knocked down all three free throws with five minutes left, giving the Knights an 85-84 lead that they would not surrender. Pacy had 14 on the night, all in the second half.
Haverhill’s Alejandro Delgado had a team-high 24 points, including a pair of free throws in the closing minute to go along with 12 rebounds for a double-double. Javien Kirmil added 16 points and was 4 for 4 from behind the arc. Lawrence’s Christian Moscat had 12 points.
NECC next hosts Massasoit on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Brewster 83, Brooks 53
Trokon Harris paced Brooks with 22 points, while Emersen Davis pitched in 14 and Riley Clark had 11.
The Brooks boys are now 1-1.
Brooks wrestling sweeps pair
Brooks School’s wrestling team knocked off Deerfield, 54-21, and Saint Mark’s, 48-27, on Saturday.
Methuen’s Harrison Kucharski and Andover’s Leito Betts each scooped up a pair of wins by fall, as did Christian McGrail.
Maia Urbanczyk, Aiden Crott, Elijah Saliey and Tucker Nichols all had 2-0 days.
