CUMBERLAND — A city man wanted on a circuit court warrant was arrested by Cumberland Police officers Monday, who reportedly deployed a Taser to take him into custody.
Alexander Thomas Lyddane, 24, was ordered jailed without bond in connection with charges of not appearing in circuit court on felony assault charges. He was also jailed on $2,500 bond related to charges stemming from alleged assault of officers who took him into custody.
The incident occurred late Monday afternoon in the 600 block of Columbia Avenue when city police officers observed Lyddane as he was sitting on a porch of a residence. The officers were aware that there were active warrants for Lyddane, who reportedly attempted to run away from the arresting officers.
Lyddane reamined jailed Tuesday in the Allegany County Detention Center, pending a bond hearing.
