Downtown Danville’s Bresee Tower and the old Courthouse Annex building on the corner of Main and Vermilion Streets could be demolished by late Summer 2025 should Danville’s City Council vote to award a bid for the project tonight.
Vermilion County and the City of Danville began receiving bids for the demolition project back on Oct. 16. Bids were due by Nov. 6.
Danville’s City Council will vote on whether to accept the bid from Homrich Wrecking out of Carlton, MI tonight, Dec. 3.
Should the vote pass City Council, it will next be up to the Vermilion County Board to find the money in their budget to supply their portion of funding for the demolition, according to their intergovernmental agreement with the City.
The contract stipulates that work must be completed within eight months, according to Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr.
