FITHIAN — The Oakwood girls basketball team made sure they would get on the board at the McDonald’s Comet Classic.
After a close loss on Saturday, the host team got its first win of the Classic with a 44-30 win over Heritage.
Caydence Vermillion had 14 points to lead Oakwood, while Rylee Wright had 11, Bella Bradford had 10 and Gracie Hanner added five points.
The Comets will continue Classic action on Wednesday against Covington.
