LAKE PLACID — Mercy Care Volunteers and Elder Friends recently gathered with members of the Lake Placid Garden Club at the Hot House Garden Center in Saranac Lake for a terrarium building workshop.
With direction from the knowledgeable Hot House Team, they learned how to build and care for succulent terrariums.
Mercy Care’s mission is to enhance in every dimension the fullness of life of Elders living in our community.
“Mercy Care hosts engagement programs throughout the year providing opportunities for volunteers and elder friends to socialize, learn, and be creative. We encourage any opportunity to enrich our events through collaboration with community organizations. We are so grateful to have Lake Placid Garden Club members join us at the Hot House to share some knowledge and laughs,” said Lexi Bevilacqua, Mercy Care program director.
Provided by Friendship Volunteers, Mercy Care for the Adirondacks offers companionship, friendship, and assistance to older adults of all faiths to help them age in place more successfully and have happier and fuller lives.
