Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Niagara Gazette and their sister newspaper, Lockport Union-Sun & Journal, has launched the Best of Niagara County photo contest.
The contest invites both amateur and professional photographers to showcase the beauty and unique character of Niagara County through their lenses. The contest is open for submissions until Oct. 15, with the winners to be announced at the Niagara USA Chamber’s Small Business Expo on Nov. 13.
“We are thrilled to launch this contest as a way to highlight the incredible talent in our community and showcase the beauty of Niagara County,” said Kory Schuler, executive director of the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce. “This is a wonderful opportunity for photographers to gain exposure, and for our community to celebrate what makes Niagara County special.”
Participants will have the chance to win in two categories: Judges’ Selection and Community Choice.
The panel of esteemed judges includes Lloyd Holmes, president of SUNY Niagara; John Percy, president & CEO of Destination Niagara and Liz Zulawski, executive director of Leadership Niagara. In addition to the Small Business Expo recognition, winning photos will be featured in the 2025 Niagara USA Chamber Directory, providing even more exposure for the photographers.
Cheryl Phillips, publisher of the Niagara Gazette and Lockport Union-Sun & Journal, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration: “As a representative of Niagara County’s local community newspapers, I am proud to partner with the Niagara USA Chamber on this exciting initiative. We look forward to seeing how our community captures the spirit of Niagara County and encourages everyone to participate and vote.”
Photographers are encouraged to submit their entries by Oct. 15 and rally their friends and family to vote for their favorite photos.
