The Buffalo Bills season is officially upon us. And if you’re a fan in need of more Bills-themed gear to celebrate, there are Niagara County stores selling locally-made goods to fill that need.
“When the season starts, it gets really busy,” said Alexa Territo, the manager of Totally Buffalo’s Lewiston location at 467 Center St.
Totally Buffalo opened its fifth location at 467 Center St. in Lewiston this past May, with already existing locations in Amherst, Orchard Park, Buffalo Riverworks, and the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site. Like the others, it is wall-to-wall with Buffalo-themed merchandise from more than 100 local artisans and specialty items made for the store like t-shirts, umbrellas, games and wall signs.
Territo, daughter of store owners Mary Friona and Scott Celani, said that this time of year people are getting ready for the season with new Bills gear.
“When we do well, we sell a lot more items,” Territo said. “The further we get in the season, we get more items.”
Outside of the season, people will typically buy from Totally Buffalo if they need gifts for a birthday or Christmas.
Just down the street at 549 Center St., Townie Football Shop has been selling Bills-related merchandise since it opened in June 2023. The Research and Design-owned store sells clothes, books and other home goods.
Employee Elaina Wisto said along with selling products from vendors, they have a graphic designer for some items.
“Since the preseason (started), a lot of people have been coming in,” Wisto said, even tourists coming in buying from them.
Later this year, Totally Buffalo will have new shirts with rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman and other new players, along with updated Josh Allen shirts. Meanwhile, a lot of new Townie items are sporting some vintage looks.
As for the Bills’ season, Territo and Wisto are optimistic on a return to the playoffs with the team hopefully taking the next step.
