VALDOSTA — Lowndes High School senior Kendall Johnson was presented her track and field state championship ring during a pregame ceremony on Friday night, Aug. 30 on Joe Wilson Field at Martin Stadium.
Johnson recently won the Georgia High School Association 7A classification 800-meter run in Carrollton on May 11 with a memorable performance and time of 2:12.58, breaking her own school record in the 800 for the fourth time. She first broke the record in 2023.
Johnson went undefeated during the 2024 track season by finishing first place in all 10 track meets during the season, region, and state competitions. Johnson was recognized as an All-State athlete for her performances in the 800m, 4x800m relay, and 4x400m relay. She was also awarded the Most Valuable Vikette Award and the Academic Award, for achieving a 4.0 GPA during the school year, by the Lowndes Track Program.
This is Johnson’s second ring since she was on the Lowndes High
track and field state championship team in 2022.
She was joined midfield Aug. 30 by school administrators, family members, and Lowndes High track and field program coaches.
