MANKATO — Mankato East/Loyola swept the three relays and edged Mankato West 92-88 in a Big Nine Conference girls swimming and diving dual meet Thursday at the East pool.
In the 200-yard medley relay, Emma Born, Camryn Schuh, Kelsey Andresen and Tiana Huynh combined for a first-place time of 2:00.09. Kamille Andresen, Born, Brittan Hoffman and Schuh placed first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:45.62, and Brittan Hoffman, Kamryn Hoffman, Huynh and Kamille Andresen won the 400 freestyle relay in 4:00.82.
Kamille Andresen also won the 200 freestyle in 2:06.52 and 100 freestyle in 56.19, and Born took first in the 200 individual medley in 2:23.35 and 100 backstroke in 1:06.06.
Kelsey Andresen won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.77, and Schuh finished first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.49. Clare Braswell was the top diver with 190.30 points.
For West, Jordan Woodford won the 50 freestyle in 25.82, and Kamryn Kitts took first in the 500 freestyle in 5:52.33.
Soccer
Mankato East girls 2, Rochester John Marshall 2: Jillian Borgmeier and Taylor Schilling each scored a goal in the Big Nine match at Rochester.
Ashley Fischer made three saves, while the Cougars had six shots on goal. Laina Peterson had an assist.
Rochester John Marshall 1, Mankato East boys 0: The Cougars had a 20-7 advantage in shots, but the Rockets won the Big Nine match at Caswell North.
Colin Pierskalla made six saves for East, allowing just a first-half goal.
East (2-2, 2-2 in Big Nine) plays at New Prague on Saturday.
Rochester Mayo 5, Mankato West 1: Amos Anderson scored a second-half goal, assisted by Isaac Ulman, in the Scarlets’ Big Nine loss at Caswell North.
Carter Schaff had nine saves for West.
Mankato Loyola/LCWM/St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran girls 2, Triton 1: Maddie Cooney and Ally Wheeler each scored a goal as the Crusaders won the nonconference match at Dodge Center.
Kamryn Hawker was the winning goalkeeper.
Girls tennis
St. James Area 7, Worthington 0: Maren Bluedorn and Julia Westman won 6-4, 7-6 (4) at No. 3 doubles in the Saints’ Big South Conference win at home.
Keyana Haler won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, as the Saints only lost five games in four singles matches.
Blue Earth Area 7, Albert Lea 0: Grace Hanson won 7-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles as the Bucs won the nonconference match at Albert Lea.
Abigail Greff was a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 4 singles. At No. 2 doubles, Grace Schavey and Brooklyn Rosenau grabbed a 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 victory.
St. Peter 5, Belle Plaine 2: Ella Dirks and Kady Thoms won 3-6, 6-1, 10-6 at No. 2 doubles as the Saints claimed a nonconference win at Belle Plaine.
Annika Southworth won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, as St. Peter won all the singles matches in straight sets.
Str. Peter plays at New Ulm on Monday.
Volleyball
Northfield 3, Mankato East 0: Jayda Swalve made seven kills and served an ace in the Cougars’ Big Nine loss at home.
Scores were 25-5, 25-12, 25-15.
Claire Huettl made nine assists, and Shanyce Johnson had four kills for East (5-4, 1-2 in Big Nine).
Martin County West 3, Mankato Loyola 0: Olivia Templin made nine kills, and Aryah Zuehlke added six kills in the Crusaders’ 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 loss in a Valley Conference match at Trimont.
Gabby Bemmels made 18 digs, and Sammy Kann had 12 assists.
Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial 3, Minnesota Valley Lutheran 0: Grace Thorson made 10 kills and served six aces as the Knights won 25-19, 25-23, 25-13 in a South Central Conference match at MVL.
Grace Sandmeyer and Allysen Mann each had eight kills, and Nettie Parsons made 28 assists. Reese Palmer served five aces.
Olivia Hammer had seven kills and two blocks for the Chargers, and Avery Freier served two aces.
LCWM (2-0, 1-0 in SCC) plays in the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown tournament Saturday.
Alden-Conger 3, Nicollet 0: Kamryn Truebenbach made six kills, but Nicollet lost 25-12, 25-14, 25-19 in a Valley Conference home match.
Cason Forbrook and Savannah Klockiem each made eight digs, and Katelyn Soost had seven assists and served three aces.
Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman 3, Madelia 2: Ashlynn Sweet and Lauryn Grev each made 13 kills in Madelia’s 17-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, 15-11 Valley loss at home.
Alicia Lugo made 21 assists and served four aces, and Payton Bruns made 19 digs.
Madelia (1-4, 0-1 in Valley) plays in the Sleepy Eye tournament Saturday.
Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 3, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 0: Addison Condon made 18 kills and Lia Baker added 13 as the Bucs won 25-19, 29-27, 25-22 in a Gopher Conference match at Janesville.
Ashlyn Pelant made 23 assists and 18 digs, and Condon and McKenna Schuster each had 24 digs.
WEM (2-1, 1-0 in Gopher) hosts a tournament on Saturday.
