Christian Heritage knocks off Dade, North Murray
Christian Heritage swept a tri-match over Dade County and North Murray Tuesday night.
The Lady Lions beat Dade in two sets, 25-18 and 25-19.
Kristen Michmerhuizen had eight kills and thee blocks against Dade, while Carly Bramlett had 12 assists, eight digs and two aces and Anna Kate Swiney had three kills and two blocks.
Against North Murray, Christian Heritage fell in the first set 25-23 but won the second 25-17 and the third 15-8.
Jolie Reynolds had 16 digs and two aces, while Taylor Horne had 10 digs. Bramlett had nine assists, seven digs, five kills and five aces.
The result of North Murray’s match against Dade County was not available at press time.
Christian Heritage plays Darlington and Coosa on Thursday, and North Murray plays Dade County again on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Southeast defeats Ridgeland
Southeast Whitfield knocked off Ridgeland 2-0 on Tuesday.
Southeast won the first set 25-12, then took the second 25-16.
Emily Vargas had seven digs and seven kills, while Yaretzi Hernandez had six assists, six deals and two aces. Leighanne Torres had five digs and three aces.
The win came after Southeast made the semifinals of a tournament at Adairsville High over the weekend. After going 1-2 in pool play, Southeast beat Adairsville in two sets, 25-15 and 25-14. Southeasg fell to the eventual champion North Paulding 25-19 and 25-16 in the semifinals.
The Lady Raiders are at Sonoraville Thursday at 6 p.m.
Northwest splits tri-match
Northwest Whitfield went 1-1 at a Monday tri-match, falling to Ringgold 2-0 and beating Oakwood Christian 2-0.
On the night, Megan Torbett totaled 26 assists, four kills, two blocks, two digs and an ace. Sarah Kate Tidwell had nine assists and three digs. Mary Susan Broadrick had nine kills, six blocks, four digs and four aces.
Northwest plays Ridgeland and Heritage on Thursday.
Dalton splits with Ringgold, East Hamilton
Dalton split a tri-match at home Tuesday, falling to East Hamilton in two sets and knocking off Ringgold.
Dalton fell to East Hamilton in two sets, 25-9, 25-15.
Dalton plays Central-Carrollton and LFO Thursday.
Dalton Academy falls to Grace Baptist
The Dalton Academy dropped in two sets to Grace Baptist Tuesday, falling 25-13 and 25-16.
The Lady Pumas play at Dade County on Thursday.
