The Fairfield Glade Lions Club is currently busy planning for the 35th annual golf tournament, which offers a $25,000 grand prize on one of the par 3 hole-in-one opportunities.
The tournament will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Fairfield Glade Heatherhurst Crag Golf Course.
It will be a four-person scramble for men, women and mixed flights. Individual entries are accepted and will be assigned to a team. The $85-per-person entry fee includes green fees, range balls, a goody bag, a grab-and-go breakfast, soft drinks and water, and lunch.
Mulligans can be purchased at the registration table before tee time for $5 each or five for $20. There will be other games during the tournament.
All teams will be preflighted based on average 18-hole scores shown on the entry form.
First-, second- and third-place winners for each flight will be awarded at the end of the tournament.
In addition to the $25,000 prize on the designated hole-in-one, there will be other prizes on the remaining par 3 holes for a hole in one.
The Fairfield Glade Lions Club has used the funds raised over the last 35 years to continue to support non-profits within the community and county. This year’s golf tournament proceeds will support Avalon Center and other Cumberland County service/charitable organizations.
Fairfield Glade Lions’ community services include vision and hearing testing at area schools, assistance with the Child Safety Program, supplies for Peavine and Crab Orchard Care Centers, Student of the Month program, hearing aids, and sight services for adults.
Entry forms are available at Heatherhurst golf course, pro shops at other Fairfield Glade golf courses, online at www.fairfieldgladeresort.com/tournaments, or call Lion Bert at 815-990-8434 or Lion Joe at 417-230-1141 to request an entry form to be sent via email.

In case of a rainout, rain checks will be issued, and prizes will be awarded at the luncheon.
