TRAVERSE CITY — A Traverse City man was arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography after an investigation by the Michigan State Police.
Russell Harp, a 33-year-old Traverse City man was arraigned in the 86th Judicial District Court on Aug. 1, police said. A press release stated he was charged with three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.
The MSP Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began the investigation when officials received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to a press release. An MSP statement said that “numerous” internet-capable devices were collected during a search of Harp’s home.
The Task Force was assisted by the 7th District ES Team and the MSP Traverse City Post.
