MANKATO — Two Mankato residents face fentanyl sales charges after controlled purchases led to task force agents finding hundreds of pills in their apartment, according to charges filed Friday.
Rafeal Allen Faulkner, 31, and Shantia Marie Schmidt, 21, were each charged with felonies for drug sales and possession and a gross misdemeanor for child endangerment in Blue Earth County District Court.
A criminal complaint states Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force agents arranged the controlled buys between a confidential information and the two in June and July.
The first purchase reportedly involved 12 oxycodone pills sold for $20 each. Agents saw a baby in the backseat of Faulkner and Schmidt’s vehicle at the time, according to the complaint.
Purchase two reportedly involved them selling the informant 100 Mbox 30 pills containing fentanyl to the informant for $6 each in July. Agents then used a search warrant on Faulkner and Schmidt’s apartment and found 236 Mbox 30 pills in a condom box and another 74 tablets in a turkey pot pie box, the complaint states.
