INTERTOWN TWLIGHT LEAGUE BASEBALL
Manchester Mariners 5, Beverly Giants 4: For the second consecutive game the Mariners won by a 5-4 score over Beverly. In this most recent victory on Tuesday, Tate Ostrowski worked around multiple errors to pitch a complete game for Manchester (now 11-5). The Mariners trailed 4-2 in the fifth inning before scoring three runs on big hits from Caulin Rogers, EJ Field, Tommy Connors (triple) and Craig Carter, as well as a deep sacrifice fly from Mike Quill.
NORTH SHORE GIRLS SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Masconomet 27, Manchester Essex 20: In a defensive battle earlier this week, Tess Carpenter scored six and Lily Oliver had five to lead the way for the Hornets in defeat. Shay Vella’s big fourth quarter for Masco sparked the Chieftains’ win.
Peabody 42, Gloucester 29: A young Gloucester squad stayed within striking distance behind 10 points from Chloe Kousoulos and eight from Emma Richardson on Tuesday night, but they were never quite able to get over the hump against a talented Peabody group.
