ROWLEY ā The Rowley Public Library is offering a Summer Concert Series: live family-friendly music events Wednesday evenings through the month of July. Bring a blanket or chair and relax on the beautiful front lawn while enjoying great local musicians. Free frozen treats will be provided.
The Paul Speidel Jazz Trio featuring vocalist Lisa Marie performs on Wednesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m.
For over 20 years, Paul Speidel has been performing jazz at major clubs and festivals in the Greater Boston area, such as Scullers, Ryles, Johnny Dās, Acton Jazz Cafe, and many others. Marie is not only a Blues shouter in the tradition of Big Joe Turner and Wynonie Harris, but this Boston native carries on the sweet Gospel Soul of Sam Cooke, the yearning of Hank Williams and the boisterous, cartoonish fun of Louis Jordan. From jump-swing to swamp boogie, hill country blues to funky New Orleans grooves, her deep, husky vocals express unmistakable joy.
PanNeubean Steel takes to the proverbial stage on Wednesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m.
Raised on Cape Cod, musician/artist Jefferey Clayton founded PanNeubean Steel, a Steelpan-led Caribbean band specializing in showcasing the beautiful sounds of the Islands, to share his passion for music and his love for his Jamaican heritage.
