Willie King Junior Golf Camp scheduled
PERU — The Willie King Junior Golf Camp will be held July 16-19 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club. The camp is for boys and girls ages 6-12.

Cougars, Lightning tie, 3-all, in 15U baseball
CHAMPLAIN — The Champlain Cougars and Adirondack Lightning 15U teams played to a 3-all tie on Wednesday night in summer baseball. The well-played and competitive game was called after eight innings due to darkness.
Champlain pitchers Baylon Cronkrite, Lincoln Perkins and Cobe Lafountain combined for 12 strikeouts. Adirondack also used three pitchers, led by Luka Dukett and Owen Lawrence, and the three combined for 11 strikeouts.
Cobe Lafountain and Evias Carpenter led the Cougars offensively with two hits each, with Carpenter driving in a run. Carter Garceau also drove in a run for the Cougars.
Dukett’s double was one of four hits for the Lightning and Charlie Skiff added a RBI single.
AuSable Forks fast-pitch association announces hall of fame inductees
AUSABLE FORK — The Au Sable Forks Fast-Pitch Softball Association is proud to announce the 2024 Hall of Fame inductees.
Chris Bresee was the 1981 and 1990 Tournament MVP, and the 1990 MV pitcher for the Cardinal Pats/Red Sox .
Bob Meconi was a local exceptional pitcher and infielder who played in the AuSable Forks league for Sharkey’s, 20 Main ,and the AuSable Forks Jaycees. Bob was also a past tournament committee member and league President.
Larry Razzano first played in the Au Sable Forks Tournament in 1972 for Perry Lanes of Johnstown. Since that time Larry has attended the Tournament every year and has been a huge financial contributor. Larry also has sponsored 5 Tournament Champions.
Dick Crahan was the Tournament food administrator for over 30 years as well a tournament Committee Board Member.
Mickey Fauvelle was a two time tournament MVP 1991, and 1995 for the South Trenton Pub/Roosters teams. Mickey Played on 7 championship teams including South Trenton and Razzano Trucking. Doug Casselman was the Tournament MVP for the 1985 and 1986 Williamsburg, Ontario, Canada Pioneers championship teams while in his 40’s.
Ed Pendt was the 1974, and 1975 Tournament MVP for the Mechanicville Merchants championship teams from Mechanicville.
Francis “Duke” Latourelle was the 1964 Tournament MVP playing for the tournament champion Keeseville Merchants.
Stanton Loya Sr. is considered by many as the best AuSable Forks league pitcher ever leading the way for several championship teams of Gordon’s Deli/Oil, and AuSable Chasm.
Lester Fessette was a 2023 inductee who will be included in the 2024 ceremonies as his family members were unable to attend the 2023 festivities.
Lester played for Sharkey’s and was a tremendous pitcher, a fierce competitor, and was well known locally for being drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers.
The 2024 HOF induction ceremonies will take place at the Billy Mitchell Memorial Field in Au Sable Forks on Friday, July 12, at 6 p.m. before the first game of the 62nd annual tournament. The Hall of Fame selection Committee would like to thank everyone for their nominations and would encourage people to nominate anyone deserving for future consideration on the Au Sable Forks Softball Association social media sites or at the field during this years tournament scheduled for July 12, 13 and 14.
