The 2024 Sew Happy Hearts quilt show had 97 miscellaneous quilted entries plus approximately 12 charity quilts to be given to Sarah Bush Lincoln Willow Breeze Hospice House.
The winner of the throw-size raffle quilt was Josie Foster of Shelbyville. The quilt was created and pieced by Sew Happy Hearts Guild member Patsy Wheeler of Shelbyville. The winner of the basket filled with approximately $500 of quilting and sewing items was Patsy Althoff of Toledo. Proceeds from the quilt show go toward charity projects throughout the year.
At the close of the annual Sew Happy Hearts quilt show, the “Viewer’s Choice” winner was announced out of 97 quilt entries. The winner this year was “Route 66” pieced by Sandy Evans and quilted by Tammie Pfeiffer of Shelbyville.
Sew Happy Hearts has 30 members from surrounding communities, including Neoga; Sigel; Effingham; Mattoon; Lerna; Windsor; Sullivan; Tower Hill; Shelbyville; Beecher City; Westfield; Toledo; Newton; Montrose; New Port Richey, Florida; and Charleston. Meetings are held at the Neoga Municipal Building on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.
