Ben Workman
Andover, Senior, Pitcher
Hard-throwing right-hander tossed three complete game shutouts. Named to Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 All-Conference team, All-Scholastic and Sr. All-Star game. Two-time MVP of the Peabody Tournament. Tossed 6.2 innings before yielding first base runner against Lawrence. Finished the season with a 3-2 record and an incredible 0.93 ERA. Mixes up his pitches extremely well. Excellent student with a 4.25 GPA.
Chris Jaillet
Andover, Junior, Pitcher
Two-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Committed to pitch at UMass. Named to Team Massachusetts as one of top 15 juniors in the state and to Jr. State All-Star game. A two-time MVC All-Conference selection. Finished season with a 3-2 record and a 3.54 ERA with one shutout. Last year, was 5-2 with an 0.46 ERA. At the plate, he batted .362 and scored 17 runs. As a sophomore, batted .308. Twin brother Ryan serves as his catcher.
Will Norris
Andover, Junior, Outfielder
Transferred from Central Catholic. A two-time Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 All-Conference selection. Joins Jaillet on Team Massachusetts and Jr. State All-Star game. Last year named to the Sophomore State All-Star game. Finished as the top local Massachusetts hitter with a .458 average. Struck out just three times in 58 at-bats. Terrific speed. Great glove in the outfield. Committed to play at D1 Wofford College in South Carolina.
Brady Rickenbach
Central Catholic, Senior, Catcher
Named to the Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 All-Conference team. Finished this season batting .380 with a .478 on-base percentage. Had 20 hits and 14 RBIs in 23 games. Was strong defensively at catcher. Committed to play at Endicott College. Named to the Eagle-Tribune All-Star boys hockey team, finishing the season with 27 points.
Josh Florence
Central Catholic, Senior, Pitcher/OF
Two-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star and two-time Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 All-Conference selection. Was team’s top pitcher, posting a 2.35 ERA, including 43 strikeouts in 35.2 innings. Went 7.2 innings with seven strikeouts in team’s big win over Catholic Memorial. With the bat, he had 17 RBIs and also tied for the team lead in runs scored with 17. Will be playing at Division 1 Stonehill University.
Colin Snyder
Haverhill, Senior, Catcher
A dual threat for the Hillies. Finished the season batting .387 out of the cleanup spot. Had 29 hits in 21 games. Coach Paul Sartori called him a great leader. Known for his grit and tenacity. Excellent defensively at blocking pitches and also threw out 16 base runners. Caught Nick Terrilli’s no-hitter. Named to MVC Division 1 All-Conference team. Committed to play at Colby-Sawyer.
Jose David Abreu
Lawrence, Junior, Pitcher/SS
First-year on varsity after moving from Dominican Republic to Houston, and then to Lawrence. Named to MVC Division 1 All-Conference team. Batted .375, including 24 hits with eleven for extra bases. Had seven doubles and four triples. Scored 21 runs. Right-hander also a key figure on the mound with a 3-2 record and 3.21 ERA over seven appearances. Struck out 21 batters. Strong defensively at shortstop with great range and speed.
David Manon
Lawrence, Senior, First Base
An elite two-sport athlete. Eagle-Tribune All-Star tight end/linebacker in football. On the diamond, batted .356 with three home runs and eleven RBIs. Posted an incredible 1.104 OPS and a .610 slugging percentage. Had 21 hits including 9 for extra bases. A 6-1, 220-pound first baseman who could pick it. Had a walk-off two-run home run vs. Chelmsford. Stole home in team’s Haverhill tournament championship game against Medfield.
Dom Pefine
North Andover, Senior, Pitcher
Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 Player of the Year. Left-hander finished the season with a 7-2 record and a 1.26 ERA. Struck out 47 batters in 50 innings. Tossed 5.2 innings of three-hit ball in the team’s state tournament win over Bishop Feehan. Named to Sr. All-Star game. As sophomore, clinched MVC title with a shutout over Methuen. As junior, threw no-hitter against Catholic Memorial. Will be playing at Franklin Pierce.
David Johnson
North Andover, Senior, Outfielder
Four-year varsity player. Two-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Two-time MVC All-Conference selection. Part of three league champions. As a sophomore, he hit .323. As a junior he hit .365 and this season he finished with a .404 average, while scoring 14 runs and knocking in 12. Tremendous defensively, with great speed and a strong, accurate arm. Coach Todd Dulin calls Johnson, “one of the best outfielders I have ever coached.”
Zach Faro
North Andover, Junior, Shortstop
Two-way player, who excels at shortstop and also had great success on the mound. Named to Merrimack Valley All-Conference team. Tremendous hands. Very impressive going to his backhand. Among area’s best in eight different statistical categories, including average (.344), hits (23), runs (14) and RBIs (11) as well as on the mound in wins (3), innings pitched (23.1), strikeouts (22) and ERA (1.50). Has drawn interest from several D2 and D3 college programs. Also key player on the NAHS basketball team.
Henry Paquette
Pelham, Senior, Pitcher
Missed all of last year with a broken foot. Came back this year and was dominant, striking out 69 batters in 48 innings with a 1.02 ERA. He was very durable, throwing five complete games. Was named to the New Hampshire Division II All-State team and was named the NH DII Runner-up Pitcher of the Year. A member of the National Honor Society. Will be pitching at St. Joseph’s College in Maine.
Michael Cioffi
Pinkerton Academy, Junior, Pitcher
New Hampshire Division I All-State. Compiled a 7-1 record with one save and an 0.78 ERA. In 44.2 innings, gave up just 23 hits, five earned runs and struck out 59. Threw 5.2 shutout innings in state championship win. “Mike took the ball in some big games this season and always stepped up to the challenge. His ability to mix fastball, change up and a devastating curveball made him one of the top pitchers in the state this year,” said head coach Steve Campo.
Leo Boucher
Pinkerton Academy, Junior, Pitcher/OF
Committed to play at Penn State. On the hill, was 6-0 with a 1.36 ERA and 47 strikeouts. Allowed just 20 hits in 36 innings. At the plate, hit .351 with 16 runs scored, 14 RBIs and stole nine bases. Named to NH Division I All-State team. “Leo’s fastball jumps out of his hand and pairs it with a plus slider. He established himself as a top arms in the state. He developed into a great hitter and covered a ton of ground in center field,” said head coach Steve Campo.
Elijah Sharp
Pinkerton Academy, Senior, Catcher
Never had a clean uniform. Elite leader. As a catcher, managed a dominating pitching staff. Strong at blocking pitches and throwing out runners. Went from batting .231 as a junior to .365 as a senior. Had 23 hits, 19 runs scored, 17 RBIs, and seven stolen bases. Batted .750 in the playoffs with four RBIs and three runs scored. Had double and scored winning run in state semifinal. Will play at Eastern Connecticut State.
Hunter Brasier
Pinkerton Academy, Sophomore, Pitcher/OF
Winning pitcher in state semifinal win. Closed out state championship game. Finished with a 7-0 record and a 1.63 ERA. Struck out 46 batters in 43 innings. Provided a potent bat with a .312 average, a .412 on base percentage with 20 hits, 13 RBIs, 12 walks and 12 runs scored. “Hunter established himself in the state as a dominating arm and did a great job offensively of batting clean up towards the end of the season,” said head coach Steve Campo.
Corey Deziel
Whittier Tech, Junior, Shortstop
The junior captain was named a CAC All-Star for the second straight year. Was big part of team’s state tournament run, including win over Haverhill. Played shortstop and displayed a strong arm and terrific range. At the plate, he batted lead-off and finished with a .418 average, including 28 hits, 24 runs, 14 RBIs, seven doubles and 12 stolen bases. As a sophomore, he hit .323. Member of the National Honor Society and part of the Electrical Shop.
Paul Armstrong
Windham, Senior, Outfielder
Two-year captain. Helped lead team to back-to-back state tournament appearances. Named to New Hampshire Division I All-State team. Committed to play at Endicott College. Finished the season batting .396 after a slow start. Had a scorching week going 7 for 10 with 6 runs scored. Finished season with two home runs, 17 runs scored and 11 RBIs. Batted .316 as a junior. Terrific defensively in the outfield, making great reads, while displaying athleticism and a strong arm.
Jake Sullo
Windham, Junior, Pitcher
Named to the New Hampshire Division I All-State team. Has a devastating curveball. Earned three wins on the mound. Posted a 1.14 ERA. Tossed five shutout innings against Salem. Tossed four shutout innings with seven strikeouts in season opener. Tossed five shutout innings with eleven strikeouts against Dover. At the plate, finished with a .355 average with a team high 21 hits. Scored 15 runs and knocked in eight.
