OXFORD — 6 On The Square will host a 17th anniversary celebration with folk-rock duo The Black Feathers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22.
According to a media release, UK musicians Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler collaborated on several projects before becoming The Black Feathers and life partners in 2012. They draw influences from Americana, folk and acoustic indie rock.
Having already built a following in the UK, The Black Feathers have been spreading their wings across the U.S., performing at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and AmericanaFest as well as being awarded official showcases at the Northeast Regional and Far-West Folk Alliance conferences.
The duo followed up their albums “Soaked To The Bone” (2016) and “Angel Dust & Cyanide” (2022) with 2023’s “Where We Are.” It includes six original tracks plus covers of Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” and Simon & Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound.”
Tickets are $20 in advance and will be $25 at the door. Tickets may be purchased online at 6onthesquare.org or call 607-843-6876 for reservations. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
The show also will be streamed live online for $10 with more information at 6onthesquare.org.
