A Lockport woman who was reported missing last month has been found in Texas.
Lockport Police Chief Steven Abbott confirmed that as a part of an ongoing investigation, Sara Nicole Morningstar was located in the Fort Worth, Texas area.
Abbott added that authorities in that area have spoken to her and that she is “OK.”
Morningstar, 29, was reported missing by her husband, Luke, after she unexpectedly left their East Avenue residence about 2:30 p.m. May 24.
Luke Morningstar told the Union-Sun & Journal on Thursday that Fort Worth police contacted him Wednesday night to say that Sara had been located — but that police had not yet made “physical contact” with her.
“We do know that she is alive and she’s OK for now,” he said.
According to Luke Morningstar, his wife is with an unknown man, and he said he is unsure whether Sara is being “controlled” or “manipulated” by that man.
“We don’t know if the person she’s with is controlling her social media accounts. We don’t know if the guy is keeping her from leaving,” he said.
Luke Morningstar added that Sara is considered a “vulnerable” adult as she has been diagnosed with manic depression and bipolar disorder, and she has run away previously.
