CUMBERLAND — A city woman was awaiting a bond hearing Monday following her weekend arrest for severely injuring a man by striking him with a crowbar, according to Cumberland Police.
Officers responding to the Saturday incident on Centre Street found a man bleeding and holding a washcloth to his head. Officers applied pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding before the arrival of Cumberland Fire Department ambulance paramedics who took the victim to UPMC Western Maryland.
The arrest reportedly took place after the victim positively identified his alleged attacker and provided details of the incident.
Police arrested Alyssa Hockenberry, 21, who was taken into custody at an unspecified location on charges of first- and second-degree assault. She was scheduled to appear in a bond hearing Monday in district court.
