DERRY — A former Derry school bus driver was sentenced to 67 years in prison on charges of sexually abusing a child and creating child pornography.
On Thursday in Rockingham Superior Court, Sean Bailey, 30, entered a guilty plea for sexually assaulting a minor younger than 13 and producing child sex abuse images.
In addition to his sentence, he also must pay a $4,000 fine and register as a sex offender. If he is paroled, he will be on supervised release for up to 10 years.
Bailey pleaded guilty to one count of sexually assaulting a minor, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and four counts of producing child pornography.
While incarcerated, he will have to receive counseling as well as complete a treatment program. If Bailey is deemed to have good behavior, he could be eligible for parole in about 33 years.
On Dec. 8, 2023, he was indicted on charges including sexually assaulting a minor younger than 13-years-old, manufacturing child sexual abuse images, and purchasing child sexual abuse images.
Bailey worked as a Londonderry school bus driver at the time of his arrest on July 30, 2023. The school district has put out statements that they believe he did not target any other children.
Detective Scott Tompkins, assisted by other members of the Derry Police Department and a member of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children task force, executed a search warrant of the suspect’s home on July 19, 2023.
A Verizon tablet was among the items seized.
Files on the tablet included videos and images of child pornography, as well as face-swap images featuring adult females engaging in sexual activity, but with their faces superimposed by one belonging to the female juvenile.
There is an order of protection for the child Bailey assaulted.
