PLATTSBURGH — Clinton Community College will celebrate the exceptional achievements of its valedictorian and salutatorian for the 2024 Commencement Ceremony.
CCC is honoring Amelia Chaffin as the valedictorian of the graduating class. Chaffin embarked on her academic journey at CCCollege as a Liberal Arts major before transitioning to English after her first semester.
Demonstrating unwavering dedication and academic excellence, she completed her degree requirements in December. Amelia’s commitment to education extends beyond her time at Clinton, as she is now pursuing a degree in Adolescent Education with a focus on English at SUNY Plattsburgh, aspiring to inspire future generations as a teacher.
Additionally, CCC congratulates Dillon Wood, who has been named the salutatorian of the class of 2024. Wood’s academic journey at CCC led him to excel in the field of Occupational Studies, specializing in Industrial/Commercial Electrician. Recognizing the immense value of his studies, Dillion emphasizes the importance of electricity in today’s world and credits CCC for providing him with a solid educational foundation.
Notably, Dillion has recently diversified his skill set and professional horizons by becoming an automotive technician, further showcasing his adaptability and commitment to lifelong learning.

The 2024 Commencement Ceremony at CCC is scheduled for Friday, May 17 at 6 p.m. at the William H. Forrence Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Center, located at CCC at 136 Clinton Point Drive, Plattsburgh.
